Meet Johanna

Hi, and thank you for stopping by.  🙂

My name is Johanna Kuvaja, and I am a classroom teacher/music teacher from Tampere, Finland. I  decided to take a leap of faith and follow my passion after experiencing a lot of hardships and losses in life, so I quit my job and started to produce my own pop songs.

My biggest influences have been George Michael, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi and The Corrs.

My first single, “Shower”, gave me ”Finland’s Sabrina”–title. It was compared to her hit song ”Boys (Summertime Love)” by the Finnish media due to its catchy melody…and sexy look. 😉

“Shower” and its music video was named as one of the biggest topics in Finland’s entertainment world in 2019 by the biggest news media in Finland, Ilta-Sanomat. It also reached the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s official Viral 50 Finland chart and has been played on the radio in over 40 different countries. “Shower” charted for 15 weeks straight after its release in August 2019.

My songs might sound very different sound-wise. I’m doing music only for me, and I like to try different styles. Music is my way to express myself and process my thoughts while being creative.

When things fell apart in my life, I was led to find my true purpose. Writing music brought me joy and cured me from depression. Sometimes music really is the only medicine the heart and soul need. 🙂

I hope you can hear my passion for music when you listen to my songs, and I hope that I’m able to bring you joy as well.

Thank you for listening to my music.

Much love,

Johanna xxx
